Sean Connery, who brilliantly portrayed the first James Bond character, filmed many of the Bond movies in the Bahamas. In Thunderball, Connery filmed many underwater scenes in the Bahamian seas. In a case of life imitating art, he has now taken a break from acting and spends his time golfing in the backyard of his Bahamian home. (Below, Connery is shot in a Louis Vuitton ad on a beach near his home in the Bahamas.)
Similar to Connery, Johnny Depp just couldn’t resist the allure of owning a little piece of paradise. While filming the pirate series, Depp fell in love with the Bahamas and, in 2004, decided to buy his own Caribbean island, Little Halls Pond Cay.

Johnny Depp’s fictional character of Captain Jack Sparrow (loosely based on Keith Richards) is a charming, witty, and fey pirate that roams the Caribbean. However, it’s not just his character that sails the high seas, Johnny Depp captains his own vessel throughout The Islands of the Bahamas. To reach his private 45-acre island in the Exumas, Little Hall’s Pond Cay, Depp must fly into Nassau, Bahamas then sail on his 156-foot yacht 60 miles. Read more about it here:
